Bangladesh in 5G era
The fifth-generation (5G) mobile network service has been launched by state-own mobile phone operator Taletalk in six sites of the country on a trial basis.
On a trial basis, this service will be provided at the Prime Minister's Office, parliament, secretariat, Bangabandhu Museum at Dhanmondi 32, Tungipara in Gopalganj, and the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar. Ultimately, 200 more important areas of Dhaka city will be covered under the 5G service.
In March 2022, the service will be broadened all over the country. Industrial and special economic zones in the country will also be brought under the service by 2022.
Around the world, Bangladesh is the ninth country who has rolled out the 5G service.
Usually, 5G is readily to connect 20 times faster than 4G, and can provide an extremely stable and fast connection.
